Oh hell no.
Let me just say that anyone who spoke to me or held my fucking hand at all last night should know that I was suffering from some temporary emotional and mental breakdown. It's over and, god willing, it will not be repeated. Ever.

A Public Service Announcement
Don't get involved with Brandon Graves. All he cares about is sex, and he'll cheat on you. |

Today has been very stressful. I'm not sure why. My grandparents are no longer here, so they can't be at fault; my parents aren't nagging me any more than usual (although that alone is occasionally enough to turn a fine day into a rotten one, depending on how persistent they choose to be, or the particular angle at which they decide to strike); I didn't really have that much to do, so it wasn't as if there was something that really should have been creating stress.
I think I'd like a holiday. Say, now. Quick, someone, offer up an itinerary. Alternatively, offer up your home. Even if it isn't a holiday for you, it is still a holiday for me, so long as your home is somehow less stress-inducing than my own.
And so long as there aren't any tornadoes where you live. Really, I'm getting pretty goddamn tired of the insane weather. If any of it is deliberate, can we please find the people responsible and fine the hell out of them? And/or assign them menial and embarrassing community service tasks to make up for their idiocy.
Finally, there are too many lists. Time for a new trend now, thanks ever.
Oh, and I almost forgot: the one thing I really am looking forward to at Potter Day? The Talent Show. They're making it spectacularly easy to find people to mock. We'll barely even have to put forth an effort. It's almost too easy, but not quite. |

Only going to Potter Day if I have good company. Sure as hell not going to the Hogsmeade one either way, as I'm not five. If I have good company that would rather do something else, that is also a more than acceptable solution.
But not this weekend. My dad's parents are visiting, and of course I have to spend all my time with them and listen to them tell the same stories over and over again. It's quite idiotic -- I'm sure they have good stories they've never told me, but I seriously don't want to hear about all of the 'hijinks' that happened on their wedding day, or the band Grandpa was almost in (not even actually was, that's how thrilling a story it is) when he was young, or that time he lost a bet to the Goblins at Gringotts and, fancy this, had to pay them some small sum of money. Don't get me wrong: I love them, but they're like relics. Boring relics. I tried to convince my parents to let me go out at least one night, but they've flatly refused. Perhaps if one of you just shows up at our door, they won't be able to turn you away.

Did you lot see the stunt some people pulled on Sunday? The pictures were all over the Daily Prophet--Merlin, I hope most of you actually read the Daily Prophet. Anyway, it was pretty ridiculous. I suppose it's not terribly surprising given what the Transformation Party was apparently doing on Saturday. Some people say they were involved in the blizzard, and I wouldn't put it past them -- some of them are quite touched in the head, perhaps just as much as the loonies who deface property in response.
I'm still glad it stopped snowing by Friday. The weekend was brill, and it wouldn't have been the same in a blizzard. My dad's relieved, too--everyone in his department was flipping shit about whether it'd last through until the Cup. Obviously not.
Potter -- you work in an apothecary in Diagon, right? Does your place sell any potions? Such as... standard pharmaceuticals? This is important. And if that apothecary doesn't sell anything but ingredients, anyone know where I can get things that are actually useful? |
